It's been quite a while since I finished a piece, stepped back, and felt truly thrilled with the outcome. I don't remember the last time I was as proud of a piece as much as I am now.
This will be an entry for the Anything Goes contest at =photomanips-club. I had a whole story in my head as I was making this, haha. XD But basically, she is the last survivor of a huge battle. I'd also like to dedicate this piece to *Iardacil, whose birthday was just a few days ago. Happy (late) birthday! Resources EDIT: lol, fail. I was going to enter this in the dark fantasy contest by =CSnyder and three other people, but I only read his journal and didn't see that there were more rules- I didn't realize until just now as I was going to send it in that those weren't the full rules and I had to use stock from all of their galleries. I suck. CommentsThank you!

It was only after looking at the stock images that I realised the wreck in the background was actually a ship. You did a very good job blending it in and making it appear to be the wrecked ruins of a city. The blending on this piece is fatastic, and I love the additions of the small items like the headpiece and the flowing material - they all add to the sense of strength and yet solitude. There is a definite feeling of desolation and despair, yet there's also a sense of hope and, like I said, strength. She seems to be waiting for someone or perhaps something to happen, or she could be guarding the last remains of her home.... it's a wonderful image, and very thought provoking. Well done - 5 stars.
