Well, I'm quite happy with how this turned out- definitely coming out of that crap artist block.

This is for =whispersss' Spirit contest.

She's a kitsune, a Japanese fox spirit that posses human bodies- usually female. It's been a while since I did the research, but it was a really interesting legend- I'll have to go back and read up at some point. I wanted to do some kind of myth or legend- something no one else would (hopefully) think of. I hadn't heard of kitsune before (even after playing Pokemon ), but I decided that portraying one of these mischievous fox spirits would be a nice piece for the contest.

Originally, I'd planned to do a digital painting of this concept, but I got frustrated and stopped. This was almost exactly what I had in mind for the painting, so it was nice to see it come together so well.
